The List

I had this master list of thing that I wanted to do before I turned 30. It was a great list, filled with the usual hopes of: speaking a fluent second language, scuba-diving, perfecting a French recipe...etc.... Needless to say, i didn't really accomplish all the things I wanted to, but I think that my flaw was that I made the list when I was 28. Two years really isn't enough time to conquer the violin, buy a Tiffany ring, and meditate my way to nirvana.

But now, I have the opportunity to start a new list. A real 10 year list that can be accomplished. I haven't started the list yet, because I want it to be realistic. In these next 10 years a lot will be happening. Maybe marriage, maybe children, maybe a career. I don't want to be busting my butt starting a community garden, learning CPR, and crocheting blankets for charity at the sacrifice of a family. I want to be able to succeed.

Maybe I should work out a year by year goal list. I love lists. I just feel like just in making the list I am accomplishing something.

So I will be thinking about my list. I don't know why the need to do things. I have always thought that if I wasn't traveling that I wasn't improving myself, but in completing goals on this list, I can continue to grow as a person. ( I am fully aware of how cheese ball that is, but it is true.)
